Love is a Risky Investment.
1) the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.
2) a devoting, using, or giving of time, talent, emotional energy, etc., as for a purpose or to achieve something
Either way you look at it, an investment takes a lot of thought, effort and faith. You must be completely secure in your decision when you are going to make an investment, and there are an infinite amount of problems that could come along with the risk of doing so. Why do people invest? According to one definition, it's to gain profitable returns. Another definition? To achieve something. So could love be considered an investment?
The other day I tweeted: I decided tonight..I think you're in love when you feel so vulnerable that anything could hurt, yet you don't run away.
That in itself is the greatest investment of all. LOVE is the investment of all investments. When you put forth and invest all your trust and feelings into one other person you are investing everything you are and everything you have. I've never known how risky, daring, terrifying and downright wonderful it feels to do that. I found out that's what a relationship is. You must trust that person because they're only human. One day, they could pull the rug out from underneath you. One day they could quickly break your trust and crush you into a million little pieces. If you never made that investment, you wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt. But if you never made that investment, you've never truly fallen in love. Once you've given that person all of those feelings, you have made the most profitable investment you will ever make. You have invested in love. Let it appreciate in value. :)
